I love this recipe! I mean it. It is delicious. You will never have to settle for a regular sugar filled, chemical laden blizzard again. This recipe is the bomb!
I like to make it in a few different ways depending on what I’m in the mood for. You can make it as a regular blizzard as instructed below using frozen bananas. If you don’t have frozen bananas – just make the recipe (using unfrozen bananas), toss it in a bowl, place it in your freezer for a couple hours and it will be the perfect consistency for you to eat then.
Ice Cream Cake – My favorite way to do this is to make individual, pre-portioned cookie dough blizzard ice cream cakes by using the regular recipe, placing in ice cream sandwich molds and freezing them overnight before enjoying. These pop out in perfect individual little ice cream cakes (in the picture where I use this option I also served it with Coconut Whipped Cream and an Avocado Chocolate Ganache created by just using this recipe found here but placing it in the refrigerator overnight and using a small ice cream scoop to scoop it out).
Cookie Dough Blizzard on a Stick – This is created by simply using your favorite popsicle molds. Just watch when you use this recipe – These need to be served directly from the freezer as they do melt quickly.
This recipe is gluten free, vegan, dairy free, grain free, high fiber, all natural, easy and the perfect dupe for a regular Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Blizzard.

DAMY Members – 1-2 Servings is a great treat option.
Your vegan cookie dough blizzard sounds incredible. Is there anything that I could substitute for the coconut milk and shredded coconut – as I am not a fan of coconut
So great to hear!! Yes, you can use almond milk! I would start with 1/2 cup and see how it goes from there. Enjoy 🙂
This looks amazing! And so healthy! Thanks for sharing
Amy, this looks good and I’ve been browsing your recipes a lot, but i have a nut and coconut allergy. What are alternatives to alond or coconut milk please? I’d really like to give it a try but not sure what substitutions i can make. Your help would be most appreciated
Omgosh!! I just made this and it was AMAZING!! I do have to admit, I was apprehensive going into it thinking “how could these ingredients possibly taste like a real cookie dough blizzard?” But it blew me away- SO good 🙂 Thanks for sharing!!
That is so great to hear!!!
Made this for dessert this evening for the first time (my first DAMY recipe I made too). Wow, this was soooo amazingly good!! We LOVED it! Thanks for an awesome and healthy recipe! I did tweak it a little based on the ingredients I had on hand – pecans instead of peanuts, coconut cream instead of coconut milk. I also cut the maple syrup in half. YUMmmmmm! 🙂
You are so welcome!!! Glad you loved it!
Do the Cashews need to be raw and soaked? This sounds amazing!
They can be either way! I did then without soaking and it turned out great 🙂
Enjoy
i just made this and it is absolutely DELICIOUS! yum yum!
So great to hear 🙂
You say this is an alternative to “sugar-laden desserts” but the recipe contains dates, maple syrup, chocolate chips and 4 bananas….. What is the total sugar content per serving?
Natural sugars are digested and used by the body in a good way. This is still a dessert But made with real food, real sugars in place of artificially made or chemicals that hurt the body 🙂
well I agree about the chemicals and artificial sweeteners and preservatives but sugar is sugar. It doesn’t matter where it comes from, there is still a very high quantity of sugar in this recipe.
Sorry but it isn’t true 🙂 The recipe makes 6 servings. That is less then one banana per person and about 2/3 TBSP of maple syrup person if you decide to not use the stevia option. Which would bring that to zero. For the dates it would be under 2 per person. They contain fibre and amazing healthy benefits.(calcium, B6, and potassium) Compare all this to any store bought blizzard and I think you will see the difference. In a medium Dairy Queen blizzard there is 1000 calories, 100 grams of sugar, 41 grams of fat and only 3 grams of fiber (as opposed to the 30 grams of fibre per serving in this recipe). So again, this is a healthy dessert option. Sugar found in real food, eaten in normal portions is not bad. It is actually good for you and highly needed. Brain function depends on sugar.
exactly lol eating fruits u call sugar overload haha I’ve been thin and healthy eating this way for years.. u have the real blizzard why we eat the fruits haha u can complain how much sugar we are having. crazy crazy
