This recipe came to be quite simply because I wanted a Terry’s Chocolate Orange. I wanted it, but I didn’t want the added sugar and dairy. So, I did what I do and created my own healthy version! This recipe turned out perfectly. The flavor is right-on!

You know I love a whole, natural foods energy bar or ball. Here are some of my now famous creations:

This recipe will be great for a mid-morning snack, to replace your chocolate orange cravings or a great snack for the kids. This is a must-make recipe.

This recipe is raw, gluten-free, vegan, no-bake, and 5 minute prep.
 

Terry’s Chocolate Orange Larabars

Makes 8-10 Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Cashews
  • 1 Cup Pitted Dates
  • 1/4 Cup Ground Flax
  • Juice of 1 Orange
  • Zest of 1/2 Orange
  • 2 Tbsp Natural Cocoa Powder
  • 3-4 Packets Stevia (This is optional – it just makes it sweeter like a chocolate bar but you certainly don’t need it. You can also use Agave, Honey or Maple Syrup)
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

Protein Option – You are free to add 2 scoops of protein powder to this recipe. If you do this you may want to add 3-4 tbsp of water.

Tip – If your dates are dry or you do not have a high-powdered food processor soaking your dates in water overnight will soften them and make it easier on your machine.

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients into your food processor and blend until larabar consistency (not completely smooth).
  2. Place ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour (this is a step I do because it makes the mixture less sticky to work with).
  3. Remove from refrigerator and place dough on a cutting board.
  4. Taking a piece of saran wrap press dough down and out until you reach larabar thickness.
  5. Using a knife cut bars into larabar-sized serving.
  6. Wrap each individual bar in saran warp for quick-to-grab snacks.
  7. Store in the refrigerator.
  8. Enjoy!
